Abstract
Localization in a genera! sense, refers to transfer, adaptation, and
deveiopment oř reiated vaiues, knowiedge, technoiogy, and behaviorai
norms from/to iocal context. Localized instructional Materials will heip
leerners to understend more the lesson because it wil! use informetion and
things within the community where they are beionged.
This research used the Quasi Experimenta! rescarch sinco its
purpose is to compare the pre-test and the posi-iest of seiected grade 4
pupils at Kalayaan Eiementary School. it was compared to know if there is a
significent difference in using and not using the localized instructiona!
materiais.

According to the study, topics that can be loclized in Filipino 4 arc:
Kayarian ng Pang-uri, Aspekto ng Pandiwa, and Panlaping viakadiwa.
While instructiona! materials to be localized are: Word Fip Chart, Story
Chart and Sentence Chart.
Localized instructional Materials were checked by Grade 4 Master
Teacher if it was acceptable or not based on the LRMDs Checklists, it got
the score of 40, meaning it is acceptabie by the LRivMDS.
The researcher conducted the pre-test and after the checking of the
iocaiizcd insiruciionai materiais, it was used in the discussion. Then, after
using it the researcher conducted the post-test to compare the resuits and
conclude if localized instructional materials wil! give big effect on the
performance of ihe iearners.
After comparing the mean score of the pre-test and post-test, besed
on the findings there is a signiiicant difference between on the mean score.
Based on the study, it is very useful to use localization because it will
help the learners better understend the esson. It is one way for the learners
to master Fiipino ianguage and Fiipino subject, and a siepping sione to
love our own languago and love the subjoct as wel!.
