Abstract
No matter what language one reads, the definition of reading is basically the comprehension of meaning through observation of the form and relationship of printed or written symbols in order to complete the act of communication initiated by the writer. It is an active meaningful process, Through, reading, the child's imaginative awareness of his own experience is seen through the eye of a gifted writer, as he makes an effort to create his own experience for others through the power of well chosen words. Through reading, he can revise or can reinforce his own opinions and attitudes, he can deepen and extend his interests and add much pleasure to enrichment of life because this is true, and the child who falls to comprehend what the writers wishes to covey is not reading.
Reading comprehension means many things to many people. It can be one of the most rewarding preoccupations of the individuals , his horizon and making it possible to partake of means accumulated experience and achievements through the ages. It is an active dialogue between the author and the other reader and it is the basic tool for learning in all subjects. It also plays a vital role in one's success in school.
Premised along the aforementioned, the researcher came up with the Title "Enhancing Reading Comprehension of Grade Three Pupils in Sampled Public Schools: Towards an intervention program" was under taken.
