Abstract
This study aimed to describe quantitatively the condition of the

Elementary Science instruction and the learning performances of Grade

Six pupils in Pobcaran District, Division of Caloocan, S.Y. 2012-2013.

Specifically, it sought to answer the following:

1. What is the profile of the teacher respondents in terms of:

1.1. Educational Attainment;

1.2. Length of years teaching Science;

1.3. Performance of Teachers (PAST)?
2. How do the pupils and teachers perceive the condition of Elementary Science instruction on the following school elements

that affect the pupils' learning:

2.1. Pupils' learning attitude;

2.2. Teachers' qualities;

2.3. Administrators' style;

2.4. Parents' support;

2.5. Community support,

2.6. Learning environment;

2.7. Health condition;

2.8. Media;

2.9. Modern technology; and

2.10. Curriculum?

3. How may the learning performance of the pupils be described in terms of:

3.1. General average in Science for school year 2012-2013; 3.2. National Achievement Test Results in Science for school year 2012-2013.
4. Is there a significant difference between the pupils' average in Science and result of the NAT in Science?

5. What are the problems encountered by the teacher-respondents in Elementary Science instruction? What suggested measures are undertaken to solve the problems?

The following hypothesis was tested at five (5) percent level of significance for acceptance or rejection, there is no significant difference between the learning performance of the pupils in their general average and result of the NAT in Science.

The study used the descriptive method of research. This method of research was considered the most appropriate in order to describe the present status of the Science Instruction in the elementary level based on the learning performance of Grade VI pupils in Pobcaran District. Documentary analysis was used for the pupils' general average and National Achievement Test (NAT) Results performance. A total of two hundred (200) Grade VI pupils from Pobcaran District of Caloocan City were the respondents of the study. They were selected through random sampling. Fifty-seven (57) intermediate teachers were also included as respondents.The teacher-made questionnaires were utilized to gather the needed data for this study. The study utilized the following statistical tools: percentage, weighted mean, and t-test.
