Abstract
This research focused on the Utilization of Learning Pyramid Strategy in Teaching Grade One in Camarin D Elemenetary School Unit 11. The researcher sought the help of 8 teachers and 303 students to find answers to the specific problems of this research.

Using the documentary analysis and questionnaire, the study revealed the improvement on reading using the primer in teaching grade one reading. Most of the students are instructional reader after using the primer for five months.

Likewise, utilization of learning pyramid primer that contained different skills are the teachers' concerned in teaching grade one reading. To make them a successful reader which are the highlights of the study. The researcher used sampling technique in selecting the respondents of the study to find out the effectiveness of the primer in teaching grade one reading in 303 students in Camarin D Elementary School Unit II North I District Caloocan City.

Data revealed the level of the reading skills of the grade one by conducting pre-reading test. The result followed more instructional readers in letter recognition with a mean score of 4.29 and syllable with a mean score of 4.12. Therefore, even if they attended the kindergarten program they still have difficulties in reading skills. The researcher designed an instructional materials which was used for first semester to address problem in teaching reading. The primer was validated and passed the evaluation based on the LRMDS criterion factors. After using the primer, post-reading test was conducted and the result was the reading level of letter recognition, syllable, phoneme blending, words, phrase and sentence fell under independent readers. Paragraph and comprehension were interpreted as instructional reader It builds strong literacy skills and incorporated with quality instructional materials primer suited to the needs of the children.

Based on the findings of the study the researcher formulated the following recommendations: Before entering the grade one program the children must be diagnose the reading level for them to know the types of strategy best for the pupils. Choose and evaluate the reading materials to be used by the reading teachers. Focused on phonemic awareness, fluency, vocabulary development and comprehension and the reading program for kinder and grade one must be in spiral curriculum to have a continuous in reading skills for children.
