Abstract
The researcher sought to describe the utilization of virtual museum presentation in Camarin D Elementary School Unit It As stated in DO 23, S. 2004- Guidelines on the Use of Computer Laboratories in Teaching and Learning in line with the integration of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in teaching and learning in the implementation of the 2002 Basic Education Curriculum (BEC), guidelines are issued in order to efficiently and effectively manage the technology environment in the schools concerned. First is the shift from teaching/ learning about the technology (computer literacy) to teaching/learning with technology (integration of ICT in teaching/learning across all subject areas) that will be implemented. The K-12 Basic Curriculum in Mathematics emphasizes the specific skills and processes to be developed; knowing and understanding; estimating, computing and solving: visualizing and modelling: representing and communicating. reasoning, proving and decision-making; applying and connecting. Second is that it aims to develop the learner's ability and willingness to perform investigations using various mathematical ideas and operations. With this reason, higher authorities are very distinct in instructing Math teachers to introduce new innovations that will cater the fast-changing needs of our new generation learners which will fit to their modern technology habit but will not compromise the quality of education that our education institutions can offer. The DepEd LRMDS (Learning Resources Management and Development System) portal released a new and upgraded level of Power Point presentation, called "The Virtual Museum". The Virtual Museum is a collection of digitally recorded images, sound files, text documents and other data of historical relevance that are accessed through electronic media. The creation of virtual museum in each Mathematics competency is basically to ensure that all the knowledge and information needed will be absorb and utilized in a manner wherein they will experience a unique way of dealing with Mathematical problems. The respondents of the study were 82 Grade 3 learners in sections Acacia and Coconut and 7 Math teachers from Camarin D Elementary School Unit II, Division of Caloocan City School, for the School Year 2018-2019.
In the modern era, the virtual museum in Mathematics enables students to explore 3D creation while deepening their understanding of a topic or educational resource and letting them explore new ways of demonstrating their knowledge in the classroom. However, it is ambitious, expensive and difficult to implement due to its complexity in terms of designs, and modern applications. As per the result of the study, teachers must develop lesson plans that are integrated in the virtual museum presentation to create a unique tool guide. With this technique, the teacher will be more confident in presenting her/his prepared lesson plan. The use of the virtual museum, shall enhance the design/format of the Daily Lesson Plan (DLL) or Daily Lesson Log (DLL) ideally the school heads must see to it that all the teachers must create their own style of lesson plans with integrated virtual museum presentation which is based on the learning competencies of learner's level not just for Grade 3 Mathematics but for all level as well. The researcher developed a questionnaire that served as the main source of data to be analyzed in the study. The questionnaire of the study was based on gathering information from the sources data where focused group was employed because of the nature of the topic being studied which was focused on the result of pretest that was given to the students' respondents. The use of the virtual museum in Mathematics is recommended especially on those competencies that learners find difficulty to comprehend. The said instructional tool will give a new avenue of learning Mathematics in a most interesting and effective way. On the part of the teacher, the researcher came up with a kind of teaching strategies being incorporated and introduced in lesson planning in teaching Mathematics 3 particularly in the four fundamental operations.
