Abstract
The study focuses on the utilization and validation of Larong Pinoy as an approach in Mathematics subject for Grade One pupils. This approach is expected to lead the pupils to get interested and highly motivated in learning Math concepts as well as encourage them to show eagerness to participate in activities inside the classroom. Mathematics plays an important role in the teaching and learning process. Mathematical expression is often used to describe models of physical events in the real world. As Math becomes more advanced and challenging, it can also be more difficult. As a result, many students find themselves needing to work harder and practice longer to understand more abstract math concepts. Utilization of Larong Pinoy as an approach serves as a strategy to encourage and establish among the pupils the eagerness to participato in all activities while having fun learning mathematical concepts and skills, and solving problems through play. Pupils also develop skills in following directions and instructions. The study has great value as a motivational tool to enhance instruction. Larong Pinoy is a traditional Filipino games or indigenous games in the Philippines also called "Laro ng Lahi". These are games commonly played by children, using native materials or instruments in the Philippines. Due to limited resources of toys for children, they usually invent games without the need for anything but players themselves. complexity arises from their flexibility to think and act. Their games' Vera Misurcova (2011) believes that traditional games are essential to a child's growth, well-being, sense of nationalism and acquaintance with the culture of their nation. As in the DepEd vision, We dream of Filipinos who passionately love their country and whose values and competencies enable them to realize their full potential and contribute meaningfully to building the nation. The advent of modern technology exemplified by high-tech gadgets and computer games fascinated children and even adults. But, playing computer games and gadgets lessen the physical activities and bonding of children among their neighborhood friends. Engaging in Larong Pinoy has a positive impact on their health. Aside from experiencing enjoyment while learning in Math, being involve in this kind of game shall allow pupils' young bodies to be prepared and physically fit. The study was conducted in Camarin D Elementary School and 89 students of Grade One Rose and Lavander, twenty-two Grade One This study used the Experimental or Mixed Method design of the research. According to Patidar (2010), an experimental design is concerned teachers and one Master teacher. with the examination on the effect of independent variable on the dependent variable, where the dependent variable is manipulated through treatment or interventions and the effect of those intervention will be shown in the dependent variables. In order to get the significant difference between the pre-test and post test scores of the student respondents, the researcher used Z-test as a statistical treatment. Z-test was conducted in order to assess the performance of the pupils before and after the utilization of Larong Pinoy Approach. Based on the result, there is a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test mean scores.
