The respondents' least mastered writing skills based on the pre test mean score is organization with a mean score of 5.9. The performance of the students after using reflective journals increased based on their post test result. The overall mean score of the post test is 7.02. The students raised the problems they encountered in using reflective journals. They noticed that translating ideas in English is difficult. They were also poor in organizing ideas. They find it difficult for them to put their ideas in a chronological way. They were also confused of the different grammar rules.

With these activities, students will be able to express themselves more through writing. They will be able to reflect on their readings, others' opinions and the current happenings in the society

Based on the findings obtained from the data gathered, the researcher arrived at the following conclusions:

1) The least mastered writing skills of the students are

organization of ideas followed by punctuation and capitalization.

2) There is an increase in the performance of the students in after

using reflective journals.

3) The problems encountered in using reflective journals were raised by the students to further suggest intervention in the future.

4) Activities in reflective journals with corresponding rubrics were

developed and modified. This will create not only skilled writers but excellent students in the future.
