Abstract
The purpose of this study is to determine the paragraph writing skills of Grade 7 students with the use of Content-Based Instruction. The identified least mastered skill of Grade 7 in the third Quarter Filipino subject for the past three years was collected as basis in paragraph writing. The researcher administered pretest and posttest validated by the Filipino Department Heads, Coordinator and teachers. The suggested activity sheet that may be developed should be align with the Learning Resource Management and Development System (LRMDS) Evaluation Rating Sheet for print resources.

The researcher used quasi-experimental one-group design using simple random sampling. The pretest and posttest was a 50-item test given to Grade 7 students. The use of Content-Based Instruction was applied before the conduct of the posttest. The results in the comparison of pretest and posttest implied that there is a significant difference in the mean scores using t-test

The results proved that the least mastered skill of Grade 7 students in the third Quarter Filipino subject for the past three years is naisusulat ang isang pahayag/talata gamit ang wastong bantas at salita with the weighted mean of 49.10

The Pretest mean score of Grade 7 students in Paragraph writing acquired 21. 24 with the mean percentage score of 42 48, standard deviation of 4.90 and a proficiency level of "No Mastery, while on the mean score of the posttest acquired 40.96, mean percentage score of 81.92, standard deviation of 3.48 and a proficiency level of "With Mastery. The scores of the students in Posttest is higher than the scores in the Pretest. It proved that there was an increase in the paragraph writing skills of Grade 7 students on the posttest after the use of Content-Based Instruction. The comparison of mean scores in the pretest and posttest with the computed t-value of 27.8864 which is greater than to the tabular value of 1.68 revealed that there was a significant difference between the mean scores of pretest and posttest

This study also revealed that the activity sheet that maybe developed based on findings are activities that enhance the skills of learners in writing paragraph. The activity sheet was evaluated by the Filipino teachers, Department Head/ Coordinator and LRMDS School Coordinator using the LRMDS Evaluation Rating Sheet for Print Resources. The Activity sheet should meet the criterion set by the LRMDS. It has four (4) factors to consider in creating print materials. These are the content, format, presentation and organization and lastly, accuracy and up-to-dateness of information. The first factor which is the Content obtained an average weighted mean of 3.84 with the interpretation of "Very Satisfactory", the format has an average weighted mean of 3.82 with the interpretation of "Very Satisfactory, the presentation and organization acquired an average weighted mean of 3.84 with the interpretation of "Very Satisfactory". The last factor, which is the accuracy and up-to-datedness has an average weighted mean of 3.93 with the interpretation of "Not present" which means that the activity sheet is accurate, updated and free from conceptual errors, factual errors, grammatical errors and computational errors. Hence, the activity sheet passed the entire criterion in the LRMDS and it is accepted since the the criterion for each factor reached the requirements.
