Abstract
This Study Was Conducted To Determine The Perception Of Parents On The Traits, Attitudes And Practices Of Teachers at Sta. Quiteria Elementary School, Tanque District, Division of Caloocan During the School Year 2002-2003.

Specially, it Sought to Answer the Following Questions:

1. What is the Profile of the Parent Respondents in Terms of the Following?
a. Gender
b. Age
c. Civil Status
d. Educational attainment
e. Monthly family income

2. Teachers How do the Parent Respondents Perceive the of Their Children in Terms of the Following Aspects?
a. Traits
b. Attitudes
c. Practices
What are the Suggestions of the Parent Respondents for the Improvement of the Teachers, Traits, Attitudes and Practices?

The Study used the Descriptive Method of Researching

Utilizing a Questionnaire-Checklist to Gather the Needed to Answer the Specific Problems of the Study.

The Study Involved 194 Parents as Respondents who have Grade One Children Studying at Sta. Quiteria Elementary School, Caloocan City.

After Retrieving the Questionnaires, the Responses were Tallied, Tabulated and Statistically Treated Using Frequency Count and Percentage, Weighted Mean and Rank.

The Significant Findings of the Study are as Follows:

1. Majority of the Parent Respondents are Female, Belong to 26-35 Age Bracket, Married High School Graduate, Jobless, Have a Family Monthly Income that Falls Within P5001-P10,000 Bracket.

2. The Parent Respondents Perceived the Traits of Their Children’s Teachers as Very Satisfactory as Shown by the Overall of 3.82.


3. The Parent Respondents Rated as Very Satisfactory the Attitudes of Their Children’s Teachers as Shown by the Overall Mean of 3.72.

4. The Negative Practices of the Teachers Were Rated as Seldom Done by the Parent Respondents as Shown by the Overall of 2.47.


5. The Top Five Suggestions Given by the Present

Respondents to Improve the Traits, Attitudes and Practices Of Their Children’s Teachers Are: 1. (Rank 1) Understanding, 2. (Rank 2.5) Continue to Teach Well and be Strict/Discipline the Pupils, 3. (Rank 4.5) Have More Patience and do not Share the Pupils/Do Not Hurt The Pupils, 4. Rank (7.5) Teacher Good Values, Thanks, Everything is Ok, and Teachers are Nice and Industrious, And 5. (Rank 12.0) Don’t Force The Pupils to Buy Goods From The Canteen, Have a Rapport to Pupils and Parents, Communicate With The Parents, Don’t Ask Favors From Pupils and be a Good Model to Your Pupils.
