Abstract
This study aimed to improve the performance in Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao through the utilization of contextualized strategic instructional materials among Grade 8 students in Sampaguita High School. The Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao 8 is a standout amongst the most fascinating subjects under K to 12 Curriculum. Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao covers the subjects that are relevant to the ordinary person. It handles learners that may have numerous misguided judgments about the reasoning that it is just a subject for good judgment. In accordance with this, the time length of apportioned for this subject is just 120 minutes out of each week or one hour of the day and two times every week. The educators may have hard time to expand the exercise great because of the absence of time in the class program. That is the reason the utilization of Contextualized Strategic Instructional Materials for Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao 8 is a major requirement for the instructors and furthermore for the students. The usage of these materials are vital towards accomplishing the required capabilities of the students in the standard classroom guidance. The utilization of Contextualized Strategic Instructional Materials in a normal classroom is an educating device. This will advance the free learning and memory upgrade among students to better their execution in understanding many confounded ideas and aptitudes in Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao 8. This will likewise propel the students to think about in Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao 8 since it can meet their learning style, premiums, qualities and shortcomings. In any case, in spite of these focal points, instructors experience boundaries amid the advancement and usage of Contextualized Strategic Instructional Materials.
This study adopted various approaches such as utilizing a customized research administrative form (RAF) to gather information on the "Contextualization and utilization of Strategic Instructional Materials for Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao 8" extracted from the learners' pre-test to conform with the research problem number 1 and the "Identified least mastered skills of Pre and Post-test mean score" taken from the results of the pre-test and post-test results conducted to grade 8 students before and after the utilization of the Contextualized Strategic Instructional Materials for Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao 8 to conform with the research problem number 4. Five sections of grade eight students out of 18 total sections in this grade level in Sampaguita High School who served as the respondents of the study was considered as participants for the conducted pre and post- tests examination intended for the study. Respondents of the study also included 30 grade 8 ESP teachers and 15 Master Teachers or Head Teachers and LRMDS focal person who were involved in teaching Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao for grade eight students for their assessment on the challenges encountered in adopting Contextualized Strategic Instructional Materials for Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao 8. This study adopted a multi-sampling technique such as simple random method in selecting five sections of grade eight students out of 18 sections of them in Sampaguita High School and took all enrolled students in all sampled sections.
Results shows that there are varied least mastered skills identified based on the result of pre-test that were the basis of the contextualized Strategic Instructional Materials. There are acceptance levels of the developed Strategic Instructional Materials in terms of Content quality, Instructional quality, Technical quality, and Other findings as assessed by teacher themselves, master teachers and head teachers of Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao. There is a significant difference in assessment of the groups of respondents on the effectiveness of developed Strategic Instructional Materials The result of post-test after using the Strategic Instructional Materials was Very Satisfactory There is a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test results. A localized plan of the developed Strategic Instructional Materials was recommended as an implementation guide.
