Abstract
Managing the school is not an easy task. The principal as the head of the school will not be the only one who manages the school. Parental involvement, teacher, non-governmental institutions plays a vital role in promoting quality learning of the pupils. In order to implement all the activities and school programs, the school itself needs the support and involvement of external and internal stakeholders in school based management.
This study adopted purposive sampling method to select qualified respondents for the study. Selection of qualified respondents was done through record verification at the school administrative office to determine who among the teachers, master teachers and other school officials and personnel were involved in various school activities that may be participated by the aforementioned external stakeholders.
The top 3 school activities that are mostly supported by external stakeholders are Brigada Skwela, Project Oca and Buwan ng Wika. For the first four months of the school year, the external stake holders are very supportive in the school activities.
The extent of involvement of the external stake holders when it comes to donations and attendance of participation signifies that they support the said activities. Most of the stake holders level of house hold income are in the below the poverty line.
The support from the parents and the Brigada Skwela is the most remarkable in school activities. They were very supportive in the school programs that address the needs of their pupils within the school year The Non-Government Organizations and Local Government Units are sometimes supportive in the school activities.
There is a significant difference between the involvement of the external stake holders in school activities. There is significant relationship between the involvement of the external stake holders and the success of the aforementioned school activities.
After the careful analysis of the study, the following recommendations are presented.
Encourage the stake holders to be more supportive in all school activities, motivate and explain to the stakeholders the outcome of their participations not only to the school but most specially to their pupils .The School Administrators must look a program or school activity that involves the local government unit and non-government organization.
The school personnel must be all out support in all the school activities. DepEd may be able to use this study as their reference for the development of other school activities.
