Teachers used many instructional materials in order to impart
knowledge to the learners. It depends upon the ability of the learners have.
One of the instructional materials may use by the teacher is by using an
activity worksheets which can enhance the creative thinking and they can by
themselves.
The study was conducted in determining the needs of the kindergarten
teachers in improving and developing their learners. The Numeracy Activity
Worksheets maybe proposed to enhance learner of academic achievement base from the different learning competencies in early childhood care and
development checklist.
Specifically, it sought to answer the questions related to the following:
First, what is the level of performance in numeracy of the Kindergarten
learners based on the ECCD checklist? Second, what numeracy activity
Worksheets maybe developed based on the ECCD? Third, what is the level of
performance in numeracy of kindergarten learners before and after the
utilization of Numeracy Activity Worksheets? Fourth, is there any significance
difference between the pretest and posttest? Fifth, what are the comments
and suggestions given using the Numeracy activity worksheets?,And sixth,
What prototype lesson plans maybe developed using the Numeracy Activity
Worksheets?.
Methods use to examine the effectiveness designed by the researcher,
ECCD checklist and teacher made test. The skills determine among the
competencies were identified. Activity worksheet is used to determine how far
the learners can used his creative thinking by answer questions from the
knowledge imparted by the teacher. The utilization of numeracy activity
worksheets developed the thinking skills, fine motor skills and other domains
that included in the ECCD checklist.
The Numeracy Activity Worksheets used by the researcher cope up
with the increase in the score of the pupils performance. The results of the data collection procedure rationalize the effectiveness of the Numeracy
activity worksheets in improving the thinking skills of the learners. Teachers
need to developed more numeracy activity sheets and applied suited
prototype lesson plans to accommodate the needs in acquiring the numeracy
skills. The researcher, considered the different manipulative materials that
they can used when answering the numeracy activity worksheets.
