Abstract
This study aimed at determining television viewing habits and academic performance of grade three pupils. This study used descriptive correlational design of quantitative method to describe the problem. The research was conducted among Grade three pupils of Manuel L. Quezon Elementary School. It examined the relationship between television viewing habits and the academic performance of Grade three for the last three grading period of School Year 2017-2018. Television viewing habits were grouped as During weekdays, Weekends / Holidays average hours spend in watching TV, time- slots in watching TV during weekdays, Time slots in watching TV during weekend/holidays, Iker watching TV. Your parent/guardian guide you in the TV show that you watch, He holds the remote control when you are watching TV. How often teacher make you watch any program or fam as part of a class activity? Reasons why I watch TV, Program types the pupils watch the most.

The study assessed how parental involvement contributed to the television viewing habits of the child. The television viewing habits of the Manuel L. Quezon Elementary School Grade 3 pupils were assessed by a survey instrument together with the pupil's television viewing schedule. average television-viewing time, and programs watched preferred by children.

The study involved 130 pupils and 13 teachers in Manuel L. Quezon Elementary School. This study was conducted for the last three grading period of the school year 2017-2018.

Based from the data gathered, the following are the findings of the study: the highest average hours spend by the pupils in watching TV during weekends/holidays is two hours while the time slot six in the morning to nine in the morning is the peak hour of the pupil's time in watching TV during weekdays while during weekend / holidays, the time slots between 6am- 9am is the most watched time. The pupils really likes watching TV The parent /guardian always guide the pupil in the TV show that they watch .Most of the time the pupil hold the remote control while watching TV. The pupils say their teacher seldom let them watch movie or film as part of class activity. To gather correct and relevant information about current events and public affairs is the common reason for watching TV. The program type that the pupils watch the most under the description always is the children's TV (cartoon and anime).

The General Weighted Average of the grade three pupils for the last three grading period is satisfactory. Majority of the student grade is above 80. The television - viewing habits of the pupils has a significant relationship between the academic performance of pupils except for the number of hours spent in watching TV during weekends / holidays. An action plan/program is designed for Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) will be effective in improving the viewing habits of pupils.
