Abstract
The purpose of this study is to determine the level of preparedness of selected public elementary schools in Caloocan North District III. Specifically. the researcher wanted to determine the demographic profile of the respondents in terms of age, gender and years in service; to identify the extent of disaster preparedness of the selected public elementary schools in earthquake, fire, typhoon, and man-made disasters and verify if there was a significant difference on the extent of disaster preparedness among the three school respondents when group according to profile. Furthermore, this study proposed a localized training program based on the findings of the study.

The descriptive method of research was used in this study because of its suitability to the problem. Survey questionnaire was utilized to gather the data needed. The statistical tools used to treat the data were percentage, weighted mean, rank and ANOVA.

The study reveals that the respondents from the three chosen school perceived themselves as prepared when it comes to different disasters whether, natural or human-induced. However, there were still some components in disaster preparedness that needed to be addressed and improved. Areas that needed to be improved and worked on were the availability of trainings on First Aid and Basic Life Support; Fire Safety and CCTV strategic placement that would help monitor the premises of the school. Age, gender and the number of years in the service does not affect the level of preparedness of the respondents.

To reduce the disaster risk in a community, it is recommended that people must be capacitated to overcome such a disaster whether young or old, and regardless of the gender.

After analyzing the findings, a proposed training program is crafted that the researcher believed to be beneficial not only for the school respondents of the study but also for all the schools in the district. A parallel study should be conducted in other Districts at the School Divisions of Caloocan to determine if similar results will be revealed.
