Abstract
This study entitled, TEACHERS' COMPETENCIES IN TEACHING MAPEH IN SELECTED PUBLIC SECONDARY SCHOOLS IN CALOOCAN NORTH DISTRICT: BASIS FOR A TRAINING PROGRAM was about teachers competency in teaching Music, Arts Physical Education and Health level of their performance, the challenges they encountered using the IPCRF rated by the Master Teacher and their co-teachers.

This study aimed at investigating teachers' competencies in terms of

instructional delivery, classroom management, teaching style and classroom assessment. It studied also the level of performance of the teachers based on the IPCRF as rated by Master Teachers and co-teachers of Caloocan North District secondary schools, namely Bagong Silang High School, Tala High School and Kalayaan National High School using the pre-design questionnaire and Revised Administrative Form (RAF) adopted from the actual IPCRF by the Department of Education.

The study attempted further to propose a Training Program for the MAPEH teachers that will support and guide them in teaching the subject.

The respondents of the study were 15 teachers of Bagong Silang High School, Tala High School, and Kalayaan National High School and 3 Master Teachers from the said school. The descriptive research study used the survey data gathering instruments. The pre-designed questionnaire addressed the teachers in their competency in teaching the MAPEH subject. The pre-designed questionnaire used a four-part scale ranging from very high to very low. The Research Administrative Form (RAF) adopted from actual IPCRF format from the DepEd addressed the level of performance of teachers based on the IPCRF as rated by Master Teacher and co-teachers. Weighted mean and ranking were used to analyze the quantitative data gathered from the survey. Z test was used to determine the significance difference between the assessment of co-teachers and the assessment of Master Teachers based on the IPCRF while the Pearson R was used to determine the co-relationship between the teachers competency and level of performance.

This study found out that teachers' competencies in teaching MAPEH was generally rated as "High" with an overall weighted mean of 3.03. This assessment recorded its highest rating on "Classroom Management" with a weighted mean of 3.24 followed by "Classroom Assessment" on the second rank with a weighted mean of 3.11.

Meanwhile, Teaching Style recorded the lowest rating with a weighted mean of 2.87 but still categorized as high on the rating scale. This study also found out that the level of performance of teachers based on the IPCRF as rated by Master Teachers and co-teachers differed from one another.

Upon identifying the assessment of the MAPEH teachers on the teachers' competencies in terms of instructional delivery, classroom management teaching style and classroom assessment they must be oriented and they may have participated in a Training Program. To ensure that the school will address the needs of the teachers, the principal, MAPEH department head, and Master Teachers shall monitor the implementation of the Training Program and encourage all the MAPEH teachers to attend the said program. Finally, the researcher proposed a training program with objectives and activities that aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of MAPEH teachers.
