Abstract
Performance appraisal is the process by which organizations evaluate individual job performance. Is is about employee's performance and accountabilty. In a globally competitive world, companies need high performance. At the same time, employees need feedback on their performance as a guide to future behavior. This need is most evident among newcomers who are trying to understand their jobs and work setting. An effective evaluation program must be based on the well planned, realistic and comprehensive program in order to improve classroom instructions to develop the school in general. To make program planning realistic and comprehensive, one must have a working knowledge which could be shown in behavioral rating scales for output accomplishment is attained, with tangible result. The foregoing discussions provide the rationale of this study.The researcher hoped to make an in-depth analysis on the significance, strength and weaknesses of the performance rating of teachers, with the desire to gather benchmark data that may be used as bases for further enhancement.
