This study is significant because it would reveal various aspects of the intermediate teachers interest/preferences about reading, which hopefully would stimulate wide personal rending among them. It is hoped that these intermediate teachers would become well- informed and concerned educators who would be implementing reading programs which are responsive to the pupils' needs.

To gather data for this study, 156 intermediate teachers from the ten (10) elementary schools of Kabukiran 1 District served as respondents, who are actually teaching either as Class Advisers, as Floating Teachers, as ASTP, as Master Teachers, and as School/District Subject Coordinators Ultimately, the results of the study would be utilized as inputs in developing reading skills, habits, attitudes, and lasting interest in reading among pupils.

Items in the questionnaire -checklist were treated using weighted mean, ANOVA, and T-test.
