Abstract
This study aimed to establish the relationship between commitment and job satisfaction of teachers in all public elementary schools in Pobracan District Division of Caloocan City during the school year 2018-2019. Specifically, it sought answers to the following questions:
1. What is the demographic profile of teachers in terms of the following:
1.1 age;
1.2 civil status
1.3 gender;
1.4 years of experience and;
1.5 highest educational attainment?
2. What is the level of commitment of the teachers in terms of the following dimensions:
2.1 commitment to school;
2.2 commitment to teaching work; and
2.3 commitment to teaching occupation?
3. What is the level of job satisfaction of teacher respondents as regards to the following aspects:
3.1 compensation;
3.2 recognition received
3.3 achievemtn;
3.4 interpersonal relationships
3.5 working conditions
3.6 responsibilities performed
3.7 supervision
3.8 work itself; and
3.9 school policies and administration?
4. Is there a significant relationship between personal commitment and job satisfaction of the public elementary school teachers?
The descriptive method of research was used in this study with the questionnaire as the main instrument in gathering the needed data. The statistical instruments used were the weighted mean, person r and also analysis of variance (ANOVA) or f-test was used to test the significance of the differences relative to the variables used and the t-test was utilized to test the acceptance or rejection of null hypothesis with the two groups of respondents.
