Abstract
This study aimed to determine the teaching approaches of faculty members of Kalyaaan National High School, Caloocan City who teaches the Open High School Program (OHSP) students, towards the development of an instructional training program.

Specifically, it sought to answer the following questions: 1 What are the teaching approaches being practiced by the teachers of Open High School Program of Kalayaan National High School? 2. What is the mean difference of the pre-test and post-test? 3. Is there a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test? 4. Is there a significant relationship between the identified teaching approaches and the effectiveness based on the pre- test and post-test? 5. What are the challenges encountered in the application of the identified teaching approaches? 6. What instructional training program can

be proposed based on the findings of the study?

The researcher applied both descriptive and experimental methods in conducting this study. Descriptive method is used in describing and narrating the results of the given study as well as the statistical tool and treatment being used in the utilization of the given study. While the experimental method is used to determine the students' performance in the pre-test and post-test after applying the teaching approaches of the faculty member of Open High School Program (OHSP), it was used in determining the output of the given examinations and the basis of making the decisions to develop a proposed instructional training program.

The study generated the following findings: 1. Most of the faculty members of the Kalayaan National High School used three teaching approaches in teaching Open High School Program (OHSP) students and they are the traditional, blended, and the modular approach. The following aforementioned approaches are rank according to their weighted mean. Blended teaching approach has a weighted mean of 3.30, 2. From all of the grade level of Kalayaan National High School the level of effectiveness of each grade level are identified. The overall mean score of from all given grade levels is 21.38 having a score increment of 8.188 and a percentage of increment of 47.81, 3. From the result of the z-test being used to determine the significant difference of each of the pre-test and post-test mean scores of Grade 7 to Grade 10 are all rejected, 4. Based on Pearson r the computed significant relationship value of the blended teaching approach to the result of the pre- test and post-test is 0.66 with an interpretation of a strong relationship, 5. The following are the challenges being encountered by the faculty members in teaching the Open High School Program are rank according to their weighted mean. They are the attendance- absenteeism due to work with, poor study habits, lack of interest towards learning, lack of provision for effective technology, the lack of modules materials to be used, next is students not suited to the program, and finally poverty with a weighted mean of 35, 6. Based on the findings of the study the researcher came up with a proposed training program in matrix form.

In the light of the study, the following conclusions were arrived at: 1. Among the identified teaching approaches that the faculty members of the Kalayaan National High School have been applied to their Open High School Program (OHSP) students, the blended teaching approach is the most effective. 2. The blended teaching approach has been very effective as an approach in teaching the learners of the Open High School Program (OHSP), 3. From the results of the z-test, there is a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test. Hence, the null hypothesis was rejected, 4. In the Pearson r test of significant test for the relationship of the teaching approaches and the result of the pre-test and post-test there is a strong relationship being interpreted. Therefore, the null hypothesis is rejected, 5. Among the challenges encountered by the faculty members of Kalayaan National High School the attendance- absenteeism due to work is the most of the challenges that they have encountered, 6. The proposed training program of the researcher is a matrix that can be utilized for the improvement of faculty in teaching their subject matters.
