Abstract
Regardless of whether you're a new or experienced educator, a teaching approach is simply HOW you plan on engaging your students from the beginning until the end of a lesson. There are many ways to engage students in the learning process. But the key is to choose the one approach in the beginning that best suits your personality and style which will impove the academic performance of the learners. You won't be able to please ALL parents, teachers and administrations so it's important to work with teaching styles which will suit you and your learners.

In a public elementary school, teachers must consider the teaching styles as a factor in learning. It is not only limited to, complete resources, healthy and conducive environment, but it also addresses some radicals that are dangerous to academic achievement.

The study utilized a descriptive method of research. This method is commonly utilized to gather information about the present existing conditions (Birion, De Jose, Dayrit, and Mapa, 2005). With this method, a deeper, more thorough, and more comprehensive understanding of the effectiveness of right teaching styles will increase the academic performance of the learners.

The research specifically looked into the impact of effective teaching

style in teaching music that would benefit the grade six learners.

The survey questionnaire was the major research instrument used to gather the data for the study. The researcher constructed the questionnaire together with her adviser. The researcher requested a permit from the School Division Superintendent. After the permit has been granted, the researcher sought permission from the principal of Caloocan North I Schools to conduct the study. The questionnaire was validated by the Master Teachers before it was disseminated and retrieved personally by the researcher. After the retrieval, the data were tallied and summarized for statistical computation and analysis.

The weighted Mean was used to define the effective teaching style of music in the public schools of Caloocan City. The responses of the respondents were analyzed using a Likert Scale in which each indicator was given a corresponding weight. The researcher arrived at the following conclusions through the findings realized from the whole research process: (1) All Grade Six teacher respondents from Caloocan North I District, Caloocan City preferred to use Discussion Method as the most effective teaching style in teaching music. (2) The study discovered that the Instruction in music opens students up to a wide range of options that help mold still pliable minds into learning how to think critically and responsibly. Performance of learners in music may be treated as seriously as any other academic course, which often considers the bottom line more important like other learning areas. (3) There is a significant relationship between the teaching styles of teachers and level of academic performance of learners in Music. Teachers should use the effective teaching style that is appropriate for the learners. (4) Based on the findings of the study, the unavailability of materials which affects the teaching style is a challenge encountered by the teacher respondents in teaching music in Grade six learners.

Based on the foregoing findings and conclusions, the researcher has formulated the following recommendations: (1) A competency-training Program on the effective teaching style in music must be included in the annual in- service training for teachers; (2) Music Teachers may use variety of teaching styles to improve the academic performance of the learners. Music teachers with the subject coordinator should have an interest in supporting approaches to provide the best possible experiences to improve the academic performance of the learners; (3) The grade chairmen and school principal should be committed to continuous training programs on integrating music in the classroom since music education is continuously evolving; and (4) The school should tie up with training institutions or NGOs that could provide free training for their teachers during in-service trainings.
