Abstract
In 21st century of education process, computer is the
instructional medium of a teacher. Using computer it can stimulate and
motivate as well as capture attention. Teachers who are trained to use some form of instructional media to teach their lessons enjoyed what
they are doing. In this contemporary world and education learning
system that prevail, it is imperative that teachers find the best way to
educate students. Teachers from all over the world have been testingvarious methods to ensure learners understand the material that they are teaching. One of these ways is called: "Project Based Learning". This method has already emerged half-centuries ago and still evolving as it infuses with technology to improve learning. The collected data were analyzed and treated statistically through the use of frequency. percentages, weighted mean and T-Test. Frequency and percentage were used to determine the difference between the performance of the students using Non ICT-Aided Project Based Learning approach and using of ICT-Aided Project Based Learning approach in TLE-ICT. The weighted mean used to analyze the problems and suggestions of ICT teachers on the use of ICT-Aided PBL approach. T-Test was used to test the significant difference existing between the pre-test scores using Non ICT-Aided PBL approach and post-test scores using ICT-Aided PBL
approach of the students.
In this study there is a significant difference between the level of academic performance of the students using ICT Aided PBL and non- ICT-aided PBL because the t-computed value (21.21) exceeded the t- critical value (1.98) at 0.05 or margin of error. The significant difference
implies that there is an improvement of performance in the ICT Aided PBL with reference to the performance in non-ICT Aided PBL where. Thus, the ICT Aided PBL is Effective. The findings indicated that based on the 10 activities from the 3rd quarter period of the student in Grade 10 Technology and Livelihood Education Information and Communication Technology, the use of information and communication tools such as internet, e-mail, computer video camera, projector etc. in class and conferences have made it possible to overcome barriers of space and time, and opens new possibilities for learning. There is now an increasing awareness regarding the potentials of ICT in learning. The respondents also met classroom management difficulties in utilizing PBL like planning of materials for projects and issues on space and time for accomplishing projects. The assessment of outputs and projects of students was also perceived by the teachers as common difficulty in PBL utilization. The government through the Department of Education can utilize the result of the study to conduct ICT programs for the effective transfer of learning for the development of instructional material, specifically in ICT.
In the light of those findings, the study recommended the
necessity that the future researcher could use the result of the study to
further investigate on the impact of using ICT
Aided Project Based Learning approach in teaching TLE 10. The result of the study includes conduct ICT training programs for the effective transfer of learning. And accomplish Project Based Learning with computer related output that would benefit the instructional process.
