Abstract
The use of computers in the teaching-learning process is evidently in- demand in the field today. Fundamental instructions are given to the learners through the use of computers. Even the activities and other materials of the learners are given to the learners in the computers. As indicated in the Department of Education Order No. 23, s. 2004, the integration of ICT in the teaching-learning process across all subject areas will have to be implemented. Also, to strengthen the government's effort in integrating the utilization of ICT in the teaching-learning process, the DepEd released Order No. 78, s. 2010 specifically about Guidelines in the Implementation of the DepEd Computerization Program (DCP) which clearly stated that DCP aims to provide public schools with appropriate technologies that would enhance the teaching-learning process and meet the challenges of the 21 century.

The faculty members were given the chance to choose different topics from the second quarter in which computer assisted instruction could be utilized. Aside from the topics, was the list of different CAI materials that could be used in the teaching learning process. After the list of topics were chosen and the list of CAI materials were chosen comparative analysis of computer assisted instruction and traditional method of teaching and learning science subject in grade 7 at Cielito Zamora High School was investigated.

The main objective of the study was to test the significant difference of the pre-test and post-test score of the control and experimental group. The population of the study was four heterogenous sections of grade seven with at least 40 learners per class. Two sections were taught using the traditional method and the two remaining sections were treated with the use of computer assisted instruction. Before the control and experimental groups were taught the traditional and CAI methods, both groups were given a pre-test. The research method was a quasi-experimental, non-equivalent control group design. The statistical tool was the z-test. The researcher used the science laboratory in handling the experimental group and with the use of CAI in teaching. The traditional and experimental groups were handled for about 10 days of teaching and learning process. The result of the study showed that there was a higher difference in the percent change of the experimental group. which shows the effectiveness of CAI. There was also a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test mean score of both the control and the experimental group based on the result of computed value and the tabular value. The topics that ranked 1 in the list were the Cell and other living things aside from plants and animals. Teachers also suggested the use of power point presentation in utilizing CAI in the teaching learning process. The researcher recommended the use of CAI in teaching, and suggested that the school should focus on developing their computer laboratory facilities and equipment for the development of the learners.
