Abstract
The world has evolved into a global village where pollution, disasters and diseases have spread to an extreme range. In this type of chaos, it is very necessary to preserve the Earth and the living things that exist on it. As human beings and the dwellers of Mother Nature, human beings have forgotten that they have a responsibility in taking care of the Planet and by that, it means keeping it safe and protecting its environment from such events. A healthy school environment keeps children's mind alert and bodies strong. Schools that promote healthy environments can improve

health and productivity for students and adults.

The children of today are the adults of tomorrow. The

physical environment of school buildings and school grounds is a key factor in the overall health and safety of students, staff, and visitors. School buildings and grounds must be designed and maintained to be free of health and safety hazards and to promote learning. Studies have shown that student achievement can be affected either positively or negatively by the school environment. Policies and protocols must be in place to ensure food protection, sanitation, safe water supply, healthy air quality, good lighting, safe playgrounds, violence prevention, and emergency response, among other issues that relate to the physical environment of schools (as cited from New Hampshire Department of Education, 2018).

The researcher being a school coordinator of eco-friendly environment observed that in Llano Elementary School that there are poorly maintained school buildings that can cause illness or symptoms to worsen for students, teachers, and staff. This can result to absences, missed schoolwork, and lower test scores. The researcher as a school coordinator is in-charge of supervising and checking the collected garbage in the school and every day ten (10) sacks of garbage are collected and in a week almost fifty sacks of garbage were collected in the school. The school spends ten pesos for every sack which is used as the storage of garbage in school. In a month, the school spend two to three hundred pesos in buying sacks for garbage disposal. Garbage is dangerous for the students and stakeholders' health because it can cause different diseases and viruses that can harm individuals. Overflowing garbage in school can cause health problems such as asthma and allergies which could increase absenteeism and reduce academic performance. Another problem is the community that puts garbage beside the wall of the school which is sometimes odorous affecting the health of the pupils, flies to scatter and may harm the health of the people around. Some of the stakeholders would just drop their plastic cup after drinking water/juice. The pupils who saw it, do the same, thinking it is the right thing to do. Moreover, some teachers are not following the guidelines on eco- friendly environment. The researcher is interested to study the eco-Friendly Environment to reduce the garbage in the school and to protect the students from viruses and diseases that can cause low academic performance of the students. The researcher is also an advocate of saving and conserving the nature for the future. Premised from the aforementioned situation, the researcher opted to undertake the study ROLE OF SCHOOL AND ITS STAKEHOLDERS IN MAINTAINING AN ECO-FRIENDLY ENVIRONMENT.
